Airvet Raises $11 Million in Oversubscribed Series B-2 Funding led by HighlandX

Apr 1, 2025

Following more than 4x year-over-year growth in Enterprise annual recurring revenue, Airvet continues to advance its goal to deliver world-class veterinary care to millions of pet families, scaling as a popular employee benefit with the nation’s leading employers

LOS ANGELES–Airvet, the enterprise leader in pet telehealth, today announced it has raised $11 million for its Series B-2 funding round led by HighlandX. The round included participation from HIPstr, the early-stage investment arm of HighPost Capital, founded by David Moross and Mark Bezos.

The pet industry has experienced historic growth, as more people have brought pets into their family than ever before. According to Bloomberg, the global pet economy is expected to grow from $380 billion to over $500 billion by 2030. Today, about 70% of every household in the country is a pet family, roughly double the percentage of households with children. Concurrently, the growing demand for pets has created a critical shortage of veterinarians and nurses. According to a report by Mars Veterinary Health, the industry is currently short over 4,000 veterinarians, a figure expected to surpass 15,000 by 2030.

“There are simply more pets coming into homes every year than there are veterinarians entering the workforce to care for them, driving cost of care up and accessibility to all-time lows,” said Brandon Werber, CEO and founder of Airvet. “The emotional and financial stress it’s creating for hundreds of millions of families is what we’ve committed to solving at Airvet.”

Airvet has experienced significant growth over the past year, including over 4x year-over-year revenue growth and a client base that has grown 3x. Airvet’s marquee clients include leading brands across more than 16 different categories, including Software and Technology, Media and Entertainment, Healthcare, Consulting, Financial Services, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, and CPG. Since moving into the employee benefits space in 2022, Airvet has rapidly expanded its platform to help blue chip employers like PepsiCo, Adobe, Apollo Global Management, Synchrony Financial, Levi’s, Lyft, and Manulife, support their pet families, who make up the vast majority of their workforce, access necessary veterinary care without the financial and time burden of an in-person vet or ER visit. Over the last year, Airvet has set employee utilization records through the expansion of its care platform to include additional services like online pharmacy, e-prescriptions, discounted pet insurance, wellness programs, and specialty care. The company also recently announced its rollout of multi-lingual experiences in Spanish and French.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with HighlandX and HighPost for this latest funding round, two firms with a strong commitment to mission-driven founders. Additionally, HighlandX ‘s expertise in both employee benefits and veterinary care will be an important asset to our growth,” added Werber. “Together, we’re striving to advance our mission of making veterinary care more affordable and accessible for millions of pet families across the globe, so that every pet can get the care they deserve.”

“When we talk to CHRO’s, the value proposition resonates immediately for anyone who has ever had a sick pet,” said William Su, Partner at HighlandX. “We are proud to back Airvet as it continues to deliver a superior pet parent experience, saving employees significant time and expense, and delivering immense ROI to employers who are able to reduce absenteeism and spark joy with a highly-utilized new benefit.”

David Moross, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HighPost, said, “We are excited to make an investment in Airvet alongside HighlandX. Airvet embodies the qualities of a promising consumer company that HIPstr aims to invest in. It possesses an established brand within a high-growth industry, benefits from favorable long-term trends, and is guided by a driven and entrepreneurial leader. We look forward to partnering with Brandon and the rest of his team to support the company’s growth and mission.”

Airvet was recently recognized as a “Best Place to Work” of 2025 by Built in.
